A 31-year-old Hartsville man is facing 27 criminal charges in connection with the sexual assault of a minor, Darlington Police Capt. Danny Watson said.
Jimmy Maurice Gaillishaw, 31, of 862 Amewood St., was arrested the night of Feb. 4 without incident after a Darlington County Sheriff’s Office investigation and charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, Darlington County Detention Center booking reports show.
Gallishaw now is charged with nine counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, nine counts of lewd act on a minor and nine counts of incest, Watson said.
The charges follow a long-term investigation of alleged sexual abuse that took place between January 2007 and July 2008, Watson said. The case investigated by the sheriff’s office is linked to the police investigation, he said.
Gallishaw remains in custody at the jail.
