Three people were transported to a local hospital and a Marion Police officer was injured in different traffic accidents in Marion on Friday.
Marion Police Capt. Jim Grey said S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the Main Street accident but confirmed that officer Daniel Ray was the injured in the incident and taken to a local hospital.
According to Community Relations Officer Lance Corporal Sonny Collins, the investigation is ongoing and a report has not been completed.
According to Grey, bystanders said the accident was a head on collision.
Marion County EMS took three people to a local hospital after they were each injured in a three-car collision on West Liberty Street in Marion near the Gurley Street intersection. One of the three vehicles in the accident was sent into the side of a home at 902 W. Liberty Street, with each car going into the back of the other.
City of Marion Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene and Grey said more information about that accident would be available later.
