RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Gov. Beverly Perdue wants North Carolina citizens to know what she's doing.
Perdue's spokeswoman said a mass e-mail was sent Tuesday to about 45,000 people on the governor's mailing list. Perdue said she plans to send such e-mails every week because she wants the public to know more about her work.
Her predecessor, Mike Easley, generally didn't release such information on a daily basis.
Perdue meets this week with teachers and county leaders to discuss the state budget, speak to union members and nonprofit groups, and attend the men's basketball game between North Carolina and North Carolina State.
She heads to Washington this weekend for a National Governors Association meeting.
Residents can be added to the list through Perdue's Web site: http://www.governor.state.nc.us/
