Deputies investigate Dillon County home invasion

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Deputies continue to investigate a home invasion that happened Saturday morning in Dillon County.

The suspects used duct tape to tie up several people who were in the home, located in the Judson community just off S.C. 9, near the Marlboro County border, Dillon County Sheriff’s Capt. Cliff Arnette said. One of the victims freed himself and called 911, but all of the suspects fled the scene before deputies arrived.

It appears the residents were deliberately targeted by the suspects, and it’s not clear how many suspects were involved, Arnette said.

“This was not a random act,” he said.

The motive for the crime remains unknown, however, Arnette said. No description of the suspects was available.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (843) 841-3721 or Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee at (888) CRIME SC (274-6372). Callers need not reveal their identities.
