Bennettsville police investigate shooting

Officers are investigating a possible gang-related shooting that left a man injured, Bennettsville Police Chief Larry McNeil said.

The incident happened at the Garden Apartments in Bennettsville about 9:15 p.m. Monday, McNeil said.

The 20-year-old victim was leaving a residence when someone shot him in the back, the chief said. The man was taken to a local hosptial for treatment and released.

The incident remains under investigation, McNeil said.
