A Hartsville man was arrested Wednesday after deputies discovered he fathered a child with a 16-year-old girl, Darlington County Sheriff’s Capt. Andy Locklair said.
Kenyon Lamont Bishop, 32, of 312 Hickory Ridge Road is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, Darlington County Detention Center booking reports show.
The incident was originally reported by the victim’s legal guardian when the girl was 15, Locklair said. The guardian told deputies the girl was misbehaving and incorrigible, he said.
The deputies discovered during the investigation the girl was in a relationship with the then 31-year-old suspect and she was pregnant, he said.
Bishop remains in custody at the jail in Darlington awaiting a bond hearing.
