The legislature had a golden opportunity to move this state forward but once again chose to put politics and their own agenda first.
By settling for a rebuke of Mark Sanford they have slapped South Carolina again. Sanford is not only a lameduck governor but an impotent lameduck whose standing in this state won’t hold weight with anyone having the desire to establish business and commerce with the state.
The legislature has sent a message to not only this governor but future governors as well that this type of behavior is acceptable; and if you should get caught, a teary-eyed emotional press conference is all that is needed to appease those bumpkins. Sanford’s actions made this state a joke, the legislature just gave it the clown factor.
