All of the 482 students at Brockington Elementary School in Timmonsville were treated to a special holiday event Wednesday. Students and staff wore their pajamas and gathered in the school's cafeteria for a snack of cookies and hot chocolate followed by a televised reading of "The Polar Express" and a Christmas carol sing-along. "We are taking our students on a throttling ride to the North Pole by using literacy and making the literacy come alive." principal Pamela Sims said. "We wanted to have the teachers and the students to build relationships," Sims said. "Relationships are so important for our students, and they need to know that their teachers care along with their administrators."
