Governor Sanford to Speak in Conway

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Governor Sanford will address the Conway Lions Club on Friday.

The Governor has fired back in recent days in response to attacks from at least two high-ranking state republicans. The Governor calls the attacks political. However, both Lt. Governor Andre Bauer (who called for the Governor to resign) and state Sen. David Thomas (who is investigating travel issues surrounding the Governor) say they have the state's best interests in mind.

Governor Sanford has countered that they have their own political agendas in mind. Bauer will likely run for Governor next year. Thomas, who lives in Greenville County, will run for Congress. Both Bauer and Thomas are, like Governor Sanford, republicans.

The Governor will undoubtedly talk about some of these matters on Friday, although the official release from his office says he will speak about opportunities to move the state forward.

His meeting with the Conway Lions Club is set to start at 1 p.m. at Ryan's Steakhouse, located at 2904 Church Street (Highway 501) in Conway.
