Horry County firefighters responded to a house fire Thursday afternoon where a homeowner tried to save several birds from the flames.
Firefighters responded to the call at 138 Brookgate Drive, just off Forestbrook Road, around 2:30 p.m.
When they arrived, flames were coming out of the roof and the homeowner was trying to get his pet birds out of the home.
There's no word yet as to their fate or as to what caused the fire.
