A woman living in Horry County was arrested after authorities said her newborn baby tested positive for drugs.

Chrissee Parent was booked into the J Reuben Long Detention Center Monday and charged with unlawful neglect of child and drugs charges that include LSD and cocaine.

In a bond hearing Monday afternoon, Horry County Judge Chris Arakas set Parent's bond at $105,000.

Once she's out of jail, Arakas said she'll be under house arrest, will have to wear a GPS monitor and cannot have any contact with her children.

A News13 crew went to the home where Parent was staying in Longs and a family member said her children are ok and they are staying with family. That family member said he was trying to distance himself from the situation and Parent's mother did not want to talk on camera about what happened.

Loris police Chief Joe Vaught said a warrant was issued for Parent's arrest on Aug. 4, after police were called to Loris Community Hospital.

Horry County authorities said Parent gave birth to a baby that tested positive for cocaine.

Officials with the marketing department at Loris Hospital weren't able to give out more detail, because they said they do not give out medical information.

Horry County police said this is not the first time there’s been a situation with Chrissee Parent's children.

An incident report from March of this year details a complaint from Parent and her son.

Parent told police his father, who was married to Chrissee at the time, beats him with a belt when he does not eat his vegetables and his father beats him at least once a week. According to the report, police did not see any bruising on the son. The officer also noted he had written a report for the boy before about the same thing.

Parent's current charges have been turned over to the prosecutor’s office.
