The death of a man whose body was found Wednesday afternoon in McColl appears to have been caused by a heart attack, Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown said.
A passerby found the body of 37-year-old William Stubbs at 12:40 p.m. on a dirt path off of Fourth Street, Brown said.
The body was sent to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for an autopsy, he said.
