Summer’s almost over and that means it’s time to get back into a routine. What better way to start off fall than to spend a few hours learning about small changes you can make in your life that can help improve your health!
The Chesterfield County Coordinating Council is partnering with the Northeastern Rural Health Network and Pioneering Healthier Communities to host a one-day event titled “Taste of Health: A Community Conference About Living Better” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Fisher Hill Community Baptist Church Family Life Center in Cheraw.
Admission is free, and a donation of a non-perishable food item for local food banks is requested.
Scheduled activities for the day include cooking demonstrations, work-out sessions, gardening classes, and health screenings, along with a variety of speakers with topics ranging from eating healthy on a budget to childhood weight management to healthcare resources in Chesterfield County.
The keynote speaker for the event is Barbara Wright Downs, diabetes community liaison with SC DHEC’s Diabetes Prevention & Control Program.
