LATTA – Children and adults alike gathered at the Latta Arts Center Saturday for a multi-cultural children’s day.
Spread out inside the center, participants used glue, glitter and scissors as the created masks, patriotic plates, maracas, teepees, lucky hands and glitter galaxies.
“We celebrated all things August – poets circle, events, figures past and present,” Sara Beth Dew, Latta Arts Council, said of the event.
About 80 people ages two and up turned out for the event – the first of its kind in Latta, Dew said.
Outside, participants enjoyed sidewalk chalk, watermelons and a wading pool dedicated to blowing bubbles.
Dew said the council plans to conduct a similar event next year.
