MYRTLE BEACH – Red Cross officials have responded to help a family of five displaced by an Aug. 18 house fire.
According to a release from the Coastal South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross, the family – one adult and four children ages 2-11 -- was displaced by a home fire at 8290 Port Harrelson Road., Bucksport.
“Since July 1, the Chapter has responded to assist 18 families in its jurisdiction of Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties who have been affected by home fires involving 50 people, 21 of which are children. Thirteen of those fires have been in Horry County,” according to the release.
