More than 2,000 students moved into Coastal Carolina University this weekend.
Around 1,825 freshmen students and 700 transfer students moved in to their new dorms and apartments today.
For many parents and students the move-in was both exciting and nerve racking.
"I’m really excited. I'm excited to leave the house and decide if i can live on my own to do everything by myself. I've been babied, since i am the baby of three, so it'll be fun,” said Catherine Sekinger, a freshman student.
Sekinger’s father Ken had mixed emotions about seeing his youngest child leave home.
"Well, it's a little nervous. I know it's a little exciting for her. I know she's a capable young woman and she'll do well but still, you always worry, no matter how big they get,” said Ken Sekinger.
Classes start Monday at Coastal.
