NORTH MYRTLE BEACH - Filing opens this week for the November municipal election in North Myrtle Beach. Candidates for one of the offices listed below may file at City Hall with the City Clerk beginning Friday, Aug. 21 and closing at noon on Sept. 4.
Mayor
Council Member from Ocean Drive Ward
Council Member from Windy Hill Ward
Council Member At-Large
The filing fee for mayor is $150.00.
The filing fee for the office of council is $75.00.
The Nov. 3 election is nonpartisan and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.
Citizens desiring to vote in the upcoming election must be registered by Oct. 2, 2009.
To register, one must contact the Horry County Board of Voter Registration at (843) 915-5440.
Registration is also available at the North Myrtle Beach Library on 2nd Ave. N., at the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce or online at www.horrycounty.org.
Absentee ballots must be obtained through the Horry County Voter Registration office in Conway.
