LAKE CITY — Florence County School District 3 is accepting nominations for its Alumni Hall Fame through Sept. 18.
To be eligible for induction into the Florence County School District 3 Hall of Fame, a candidate must, on the day of induction:
- Be a graduate of a current or former high school located within the boundaries of Florence County School District 3.
- Be older than 35 or deceased.
- Not be an employee of Florence County School District 3 for the previous two years.
- Not be a member of Florence County School District 3 Board of Trustees for the previous two years.
Candidates may be nominated by the general public. The person making the nomination must include substantive background information (professional resume, newspaper clippings, etc.) and contact information of the nominee.
The committee makes its selections based on a candidate being a recognized leader in the community, having had a significant impact through involvement or activities in Florence County School District 3, or having distinguished themselves through achievements while a student in Florence County School District 3.
The committee is comprised of one member of the Board of Trustees (appointed by the board chairman), two teachers, one school principal, two members of the community and one member of the superintendent’s executive or senior staff.
The awards will be presented to recipients during the Greater Lake City Chamber of Commerce’s “Lake City on Parade” in December.
