Old Time Country Church: Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Center Theater. Features Rev. H. E. Dixon, Friendship Community Choir and Lil Larry and Friends. The event is being filmed live for TV and DVD.

Mid-summer Praise and Worship Program: Aug. 16 at 5 p.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Hartsville. Event sponsored by the Concert Choir of Jerusalem. Program will include guest choirs.

Fall Revival: Aug. 17-20 at 7 p.m. at Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Billy Farrow Highway in Hartsville. Guest speaker: Rev. Jerry Corbett of Pee Dee Union Baptist Church, Cheraw.

Dispelling Myths and Finding Hope in the Bible’s Most Difficult Book: Tuesdays Aug. 18-Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. to noon and 7 to 8 p.m. Pastor Phil Thrailkill of St. Luke United Methodist will teach 16 sessions. The teaching method used will be a scripture sheet laying out the structure of the passage, followed by a lecture on the history, rhetoric and theological insights of the text. Friendship Community Choir 15th Anniversary: Aug. 21 and 23 at 6 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 212 W. Washington St. The public is invited. Info: 332-1726.

Bring a Friend Sunday Picnic: Aug. 30 at noon at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. A picnic will be held after the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service. Jerusalem Baptist Church 140th Anniversary Celebration: Oct. 25. Make plans to share in this special event.

Angel Food Ministries: Food boxes are designed to feed a family of four for about $30. There is no application to fill out. If you would like to place an order, you may stop by the Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1410 Bobo Newsom Highway, or call at the appointed times. Order times are 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Saturdays. Info: Donna 332-3391.

John Wesley United Methodist Church Food Bank: In need of canned goods and other non-perishable items to help feed the needy in Lee and Darlington counties. John Wesley UMC is a partner with Harvest Hope Food Bank. Items can be dropped off at 304 E. Main St. in Lamar. Open Prayer: Noon to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at the Wesley United Methodist Church sanctuary, corner of College Avenue and Fourth Street. All are welcome to come in and pray. This is a time of personal prayer; no program is planned. The community is invited to just come and sit or kneel at the altar and open their hearts to God.

Chapel Hill Baptist Church Services: 10 a.m. Sunday school, 11 a.m. Sunday worship, 6 p.m. Sunday evening services and 7 p.m. Wednesday Bible study. All services are at 1569 Ruby Road. The public is invited to join any and all of these services.

Young Professionals Sunday School Class: 9:15 a.m. Sundays at First Baptist Church, 104 E. Home Ave., Hartsville, across from Sonic. Worship service follows at 10:30 a.m. Join them to learn about God's word and will for our lives, for fellowship and fun.

Wesley United Methodist Services: 8:30 a.m. Sunday early morning worship services, 9:30 a.m. Sunday school, 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning worship service and 6 p.m. UMYF for all area youth. All services are at the church at corner of College Avenue and Fourth Street. The Rev. Terry Martin is pastor. Wesley invites you to share in any and all of their worship services.
