A 77-year-old man was arrested Thursday after deputies said he was selling prescription drugs, according to a press release issued by the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.

James Marshall was arrested after Darlington County drug agents raided a house on North Sansbury Road in Lake Swamp, according to the release. He is charged with distribution of a schedule III narcotic. Deputies said Marshall sold pain pills to two undercover agents.

“Most people wouldn’t suspect a 77-year-old man for doing something like this, but it does happen,” Darlington County Sheriff Wayne Byrd said in the release.

He remains in custody at the Darlington County jail awaiting a bond hearing.
