37-year-old Jeffrey Burt Wheeler, of Browns Mills, N.J., died in a single-car accident on Highway 472 near Conway on Friday night, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.
According to S.C. Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:50 p.m.
Highway Patrol says Wheeler was driving east on Highway 472, in a 1989 Lincoln 4-door, when he ran off the left side of the road, overcorrected, and than struck a ditch on the right side of the highway.
Wheeler was not wearing a seatbelt, according to Highway Patrol.
Wheeler died of internal injuries and was pronounced dead at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, according to Edge.
