Investigation continues into Mullins woman's death

»  Comments | Post a Comment

MULLINS – Investigators continue work to determine the cause of death of a Mullins woman whose body was found by family members in her home Wednesday.

Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson said an autopsy performed this week on 26-year-old Natasha Gainey did not yield any information about her death.

Examiners didn't find any visual evidence of foul play, he said.

A toxicology report has been scheduled, Richardson said.

Gainey died in her 914 Gold St. residence where her body was found at 10: 55 a.m. Wednesday by a family member, Richardson and Mullins Police Chief Kenneth Davis said.

Davis said he asked members of the State Law Enforcement Division’s Crime Scene Unit to help process the scene, as is the protocol when investigating an unattended death.
