Investigators release name of Mullins woman found dead in home

MULLINS — Investigators have released the name of a Mullins woman found dead in her house Wednesday morning.

Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson identified her as 26-year-old Natasha Gainey.

Gainey died in her 914 Gold St. residence where her body was found at 10: 55 a.m. Wednesday by a family member, Richardson and Mullins Police Chief Kenneth Davis said.

Richardson pronounced her dead at the residence.

Davis said he asked members of the State Law Enforcement Division’s Crime Scene Unit to help process the scene, as is the protocol when investigating an unattended death.

Autopsy results are expected Thursday afternoon, Richardson said.
