McLeod Medical Center Darlington is offering a free community health fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday on the hospital’s campus, 701 Cashua Ferry Road.
A grant from the McLeod Health Foundation is allowing the medical center to provide free health screenings for cholesterol; PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) levels; diabetes; bone density; Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD); blood pressure; and stroke.
During the health fair, physicians and other health-care professionals will provide brief presentations on several health-related topics including attention deficit disorder, colon cancer, breast cancer, diabetes, renal disease, yoga and nutrition.
The family health fair also will include activities for children such as face painting; finger casts; a large inflatable slide; glow germs; ChildReach Ambulance tours; McLeod Safe Kids games; Darlington County Sheriff’s Office bloodhounds; and Darlington County Fire Department’s Smokehouse.
