Some Barefoot area residents may return home

»  Comments | Post a Comment

North Myrtle Beach Public Information Officer Nicole Aiello says they are opening up the Barefoot Bridge at 6 p.m. for people who live from the bridge to Hwy 31.

Aiello said residents will be allowed back in with ID and will have to stay on their property.

Horry County Fire Rescue PIO Todd Cartner says it’s about 40 to 50 percent of the people who were evacuated.

She said if residents are found milling about, they will be escorted out.

Aiello said they will make a decision Friday at 10 a.m. about the people who live north of Hwy 31.

Santee Cooper has restored power for the people who are being allowed back in.
