Celebrating a year in business in downtown Marion, Tara Bennett, owner of Classy’s Boutique, knows the value of hard work, networking and product knowledge. After hosting a Marion Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony, Bennett and her son Zachary were passing out Easter candy to Easterling Annex students this past week.
“This is a job too,” Bennett said, taking a moment to catch her breath in front of the store at 314 North Main Street. Bennett said the support from local businesses downtown is great.
“I think the location is awesome and the support is great also because it’s like the businesses are working in unison. They all are trying to help each other prosper locally,” she said.
Bennett was employed at McLeod Regional Medical Center, and the married mother of a 2-year-old daughter and 4-year old son also spent the past four years assisting her husband’s commercial business, before opening the boutique.
“Where Fashion Matters” is her slogan and customers can easily find out why, when they stroll inside and are drawn to children’s clothing for ages three months to six years old, Carolina Girl t-shirts, jewelry, handbags, scarves, key chains, personalized license tags and baby gift items. Bennett said she appreciates the work of her two young ladies employed at the boutique Lina Rice and Carolyn Harrelson.
Classy’s Boutique is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays the store closes at 2 p.m.
