I would like to thank everyone who attended our luncheon last month and hope that you enjoyed our guest speaker. I would also like to thank Anderson Brothers Bank for sponsoring the luncheon and Jo Sanders for the meal she prepared and, of course, Macedonia United Methodist Church for allowing us to use their facility.
I hope everyone will be able to attend our first Business After Hours on April 16 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Webster Manor. This is a great way for our members to network with other members and for you to showcase your place of business. If you are interested in sponsoring a Business After Hours, please call Cindy at the chamber so we can get you on the schedule. We are quickly filling up for the year.
We will also have our monthly luncheon on April 24 in Macedonia United Methodist Church.
I am pleased to announce our "member to member" discount program is growing. The following businesses are participating in the program: The Aynor Journal, Dixie Graphics, Talk-n-Tan, The George Agency, Mullins Truck Service, Carolina Furniture, All Storage and The Wellness Center.
This program is only available to Chamber members and their employees. This is a great opportunity for our members to do business with other chamber members. Membership Discount cards will be mailed to our members and their employees within the next two weeks. You will need to show your discount card at the businesses participating in the program to receive the discount.
If you would like to participate in this program, call Cindy at the chamber. This information will also be listed on our Web site at www.mullinschamber.sc.
The Chamber sponsored its first television show for Channel 8 on Thursday. The show is called Down Home with Mullins and aired on April 9 at 6:00 pm. The first show featured Subway of Mullins and Barringer’s Jewelry Store. If you have any suggestions for the show, let us know.
The Chamber is getting ready for its annual Golf tournament, set for Friday, May 15 at Pineland Country Club. Again this year, we will have several local celebrates participating in the tournament. They are former New England Patriots Football Player Johnny Rembert; Eddie Dyers, executive vice president of Coastal Carolina College; Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes; Cecil Chandler of WBTW TV13; and Coop and Colby of 103X Morning Show.
If you are planning on sponsoring a team or playing in the tournament, please get in touch with Cindy at the chamber so we can make sure you have a spot in the tournament.
See you at the Business After Hours on the 16th at Webster Manor.
Debbie Waltz is the president of the Greater Mullins Chamber of Commerce.
