Grand Strand Humane Society announces plans for fundraiser

MYRTLE BEACH - The Grand Strand Humane Society has announced plans for a fundraiser on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the T.I.G.E.R.S. Wildlife Preserve.

According to a news release, the event begins at 4:00pm. The shelter will provide bus transportation to the Preserve from the Market Common beginning at 3:15pm. There will not be parking available at the Preserve.

Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served. In addition, each group will receive a picture disk documenting their adventure. Attendees for the event must be at least 18 years old.

T.I.G.E.R.S. is a wildlife education organization dedicated to promoting global conservation with informative, educational and entertaining interactive programs. The T.I.G.E.R.S. Preserve has made appearances on National Geographic, The Discovery Channel, NBC’s The Tonight Show, Animal Planet and Saturday Night Live. Animals at the Preserve have also appeared in feature films such as “Dr. Doolittle”, “Forrest Gump” and “Ace Ventura Pet Detective”.

Tickets are $150 and can be purchased at the shelter, 3241 Mr. Joe White Avenue, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11am-6pm and Saturday 11am-4pm. Tickets can also be ordered by calling 843-918-4913.

There are a limited number of tickets available. Tickets must be purchased in advance. All proceeds benefit the Grand Strand Humane Society.
