Florence County authorities have seized about 21 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $50,000 that were hidden inside a television set.
The drugs were confiscated March 20 when Florence County sheriff’s deputies and Florence police narcotics officers intercepted a package going to an address in Florence County, Florence County Sheriff’s Lt. Brett Camp said.
The package was a television set in its original box, Camp said.
Harley, a sheriff’s office narcotic detection dog, alerted on the package although the shippers tried to use Tobasco sauce in between layers of cellophane wrapped around five packages of marijuana to prevent their detection.
The investigation is continuing, Camp said.
