A mid-morning armed robbery forced a Florence school on lockdown Wednesday.
According to Florence Police Major Carlos Raines, a man walked into the Hobby Lobby store on David McLeod Boulevard around 10:15 a.m. and demanded money.
Raines said the man pulled a hand gun on two women in the business office and then tied them together. He then took an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the store.
Witnesses describe the robber as a white male in his late 50’s, approximately 5’6 and 150-160 lbs with a balding head. He was seen wearing silver glasses, burgundy shirt with a grey vest and black pants.
Officials with Florence School District One placed West Florence High School on lockdown once they were made aware of the situation. The school has since lifted the lockdown
