A judge sets bond for Dominique Fulton, the man accused of stabbing several family members, Thursday.
Fulton's bond is set at $105,000.00 cash or surety.
Family members of a mother and her 8-month-old old baby who were stabbed by the mother’s cousin are shocked and disturbed. The suspect deputies say also stabbed his own mother.
Sgt. Neil Johnson said the incident was reported around midnight Wednesday at 952 Lucy Grier Road in Plantersville.
Johnson said when deputies arrived on the scene; they learned three people had been stabbed. Johnson said, Dominique Alante Fulton, 20, who lives at the address, entered the home while the victim was in another room preparing her 8 month old child a bottle.
When the victim returned to the room where the stabbing happened, she discovered Fulton standing in the corner.
A struggled ensued and during the struggle she was stabbed on her left side. Johnson said when deputies arrived at the home, the suspect was gone and the mother had been taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Deputies searched for the Fulton, but could not find him. Later that morning, Johnson said Fulton returned to the home around 3:30 and stabbed the 8-month-old, along with Fulton’s mother.
Fulton's uncle, Elfonso White who lives a few yards from Fulton’s' mobile home said he remembers hearing a knock at his door early Wednesday morning.
When his wife answered the door Fulton was distraught asking his aunt to come to the house because as White explained Fulton said, 'it's an emergency; your sister was stabbed.'
"I never thought that I would ever see or hear such a thing," said White.
White said that he and his wife are trying to figure out just what went wrong, especially when Fulton explained White is a quiet guy and never meant any harm.
"He's a very nice young individual, I would never expect that out of him or anything like this but there just comes a time when you think you know the person but you don't."
Some neighbors who wished to remain anonymous told News 13 that they are saddened by the family’s tragedy. Fulton’s mother one neighbor said is a “sweet and pleasant lady that everyone knows from church.”
Fulton was booked into the Georgetown County jail and charged with 3 counts of aggravated battery with intent to kill, 3 counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and one count of kidnapping, Johnson said.
Johnson said all three victims are expected to fully recover.
Fulton will remain in jail until he can post bond.
