The mission of the Greater Mullins Chamber of Commerce is to contribute to the enhancement of the quality of life and the economic well-being of the citizenry by bringing together the business, industrial, and educational communities for the common good of all.
To that end, the Greater Mullins Chamber of Commerce has started the second quarter of the year with a new director and new programs and plans.
Executive Director Cindy Lesieur, who started her job in early March, said that only will chamber members have a chance to enjoy their traditional chamber luncheons, but they will also have the opportunity to visit several local businesses during the Business after Hours scheduled throughout the year.
The chamber is also offering a new member-to-member discount program where a membership card will entitle members to discounts at participating Chamber businesses, she, adding that the chamber is in the process of creating a new “in-depth” newsletter that will include columns by local legislators and the county’s economic development director.
The chamber is also working on scheduling new events for the year, to include the upcoming annual Golf Tournament fundraiser, set for May 15 at the Pineland Country Club.
Local residents, in a survey, recently named the Depot, home of the chamber and the S.C. Tobacco Museum, as the Most Attractive Building in Marion County, Lesieur said.
The Mullins Chamber of Commerce, the Marion Chamber, Clemson Extension and the Marion County Economic Development office are offering Small Business Workshops, Lesieur said, which will offer practical marketing information and tips to help business owners sustain and grow their business.
These workshops are scheduled for April 28 and May 19.
The chamber also has a new Web site at www.mullinschamber.sc. As the new site progresses, it will offer detail information on local business and what is available in Mullins, she added.
The Greater Mullins Chamber of Commerce is at One North Main Street in Mullins. For information call (843) 464-6651 or email mullinschamber@bellsouth.net.
