Veterans council sets meeting schedule in Florence

Veterans across the Pee Dee now have a new outlet to air concerns, get valuable information, and ask important questions.
The newly-formed Pee Dee Veterans Advisory Council will meet the third Thursday every month at the Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation Library in downtown Florence.
The first-ever meeting is set for Thursday, October 16th at 10:30 a.m.
Rick Walden, director of Florence County Veterans Affairs, said the group is made up of 18 members, all veterans, who have been discussing how to put together this type of group for some time.
Walden said the council will take up issues on the local, state, and federal level.
