John Rosemond will present a program titled “Parenting the Strong-Willed Child with Biblical Principles” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Central United Methodist Church in Florence.
Rosemond, an Asheville, N.C., native who lives with his family in Gastonia, N.C., is a nationally syndicated columnist, family psychologist licensed in North Carolina, author, husband, parent and grandparent.
Tickets may be purchased for $10 at the door or in advance at the church office.
Rosemond is billed as America’s most popular speaker on parenting issues. During a typical speaking year (about eight months), he delivers more than 200 presentations to parent, teacher and professional groups.
Rosemond’s nationally-syndicated parenting column appears weekly in more than 200 papers nationwide. It is read by an estimated 15 million people.
Rosemond is the author of 10 best-selling books on parenting and family issues. He is writing four more, including “one that will liberate parents from the psychobabble surrounding toilet training, babble that has transformed something simple and straightforward into something unnecessarily stressful and complicated.”
Rosemond’s other books include “A Family of Value,” “Because I Said So!” and “The NEW Six-Point Plan for Raising Happy, Healthy Children.”
Rosemond’s most recent book, “Parenting by The Book,” was published by Howard Books in September 2007. It comes with study guide included and is supplemented by both a DVD and CD series to facilitate group study and discussion.
“All that aside,” Rosemand said in a press release, “my real qualifications are that I have been married to the same wonderful woman, Willie, for 39 years. It is a rich marriage that has produced two children and seven well-behaved grandchildren.
