Bauer offers Listening Session on senior fraud in Florence

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Lt. Gov. André Bauer and the Office on Aging will host a Listening Session on senior fraud at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Leatherman Senior Center, 600 Senior Way, Florence.

The Listening Session will offer an opportunity for seniors and their caregivers who may be victims of fraud to share their story with Bauer and his staff.

Once the Office on Aging has information about the victim’s case on file, the information will be brought to the attention of the appropriate local, state or federal agency to help bring resolution to the issue.

The Lt. Governor’s Task Force on Senior Fraud was formed to combat the alarming number of calls and reports of fraud impacting South Carolina’s senior population. There are more than 40 member agencies.

To make an appointment for the Listening Session, or for more information, call (800) 868-9095 or e-mail jlegare@aging.sc.gov.
