»  Comments | Post a Comment

Two Florence County men were arrested after police said they called E-911 and told an operator there was a bomb in Lake City High School, Lake City Police Chief Billy Brown said.

Craig Marquis Croker, 18, of 130 Cash Ave., Lake City is charged with threatening to kill or intimidate an individual or damage and destroy property with a bomb, Florence County Detention Center bookings report show.

Travis Brockington, 19, of 1840 Bozy Road, Lot 26, Scranton, also is charged in connection with the incident, Brown said.

Police said the suspects called E-911 on Sept. 2 and said they’d planted a bomb at the school, Brown said. The building was evacuated and no explosives were found.

The suspects were located and arrested after a police investigation. It’s unclear if they were students at the high school, Brown said.

Croker remains in custody at the jail in Effingham, and bond information wasn’t available.

No booking information for Brockington could be found on the Florence County Sheriff’s Office Web site, wwww.fcso.org, at press time.
