LETTER TO THE EDITOR: See Little Theatre play first, then make judgment

»  Comments | Post a Comment

For all of you skeptics out there, concerning “Jesus Christ Superstar” … the show is amazing.

Being able to view a rehearsal this week allowed me to utilize my worldview and intelligently decide for myself if this show is at all offensive or demeaning to the Word of God, concerning Jesus Christ, His son. The show, directed by Shaw Thompson, is incredible.

As a now-evangelical Christian, I would suspect that there is a bit of pharisee and sadducee in each of us, and that furthermore, in our righteous indignation, we would rather quickly judge whether God is “big enough” to use this production or not in the lives of his people.

It is quite evident that Mr. Thompson is right on target by not allowing Jesus to just simply die — but to resurrect Him to glory in the end.

Cold chills and tears have flooded people working on this production and cast members as well as viewers so far.

So, who are we to judge so quickly and stand in the judgment seat if we haven’t even taken the time to see what Shaw Thompson has done on behalf of our Jesus?
