I am writing to commend Mr. Ron Harrelson Jr. (Florence) and Mr. R. L. Zeiger Sr. (Darlington) for their letter to the editor on Sept. 1. These two letters were right on target.
I, too, read Mr. Curran’s letter to the editor and felt the exact same way Mr. Ron Harrelson so eloquently expressed his views in the Morning News editorial.
Mr. Curran, I find it reprehensible to “trash” anyone who has served their country in the Armed Forces, especially during times of conflict.
John McCain is an American hero who doesn’t deserve your criticism of his service. Shame on you.
It is uplifting to read articles that support the people who have served our nation.
As I prepare to cast my ballot, I will cast it for the man who has the experience and the knowledge and qualifications to protect our country and to guide us to the future.
This election is much bigger than the only qualification being a community organizer from the south side of Chicago.
