Early morning crash kills one in Horry County

An early morning crash killed one person and sent two others to a local hospital Monday.

According to Lance Corporal Sonny Collins of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 12:25 a.m. on Holmestown Road, about 5 mile south of Myrtle Beach.

Collins said the driver of a 2004 Nissan pickup truck ran off the road and struck a tree.

The driver died at the scene. Two other people inside the vehicle were transported to a local hospital Collins said.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
