Hanna track veers east, potentially targets Grand Strand

»  Comments | Post a Comment

MYRTLE BEACH – The 11 a.m. Hanna update from the National Hurricane Center shows a track that has veered to the east compared to the 5 a.m. update.

“The projected landfall location has been shifted east and now puts the storm making landfall very early Saturday morning as an 80 mph category 1 hurricane somewhere on the Grand Strand,” WBTW News13 meteorologist Chris Still said.

While the Grand Strand is in the middle of the cone of probability, Still said anyone who lives within the cone should be prepared for the storm as it could easily strike anywhere within the cone.

Still said the storm appears to have made its turn to the north and is now moving that direction at 6 mph.
