»  Comments | Post a Comment

Horry County has moved to Operating Condition Level 4 (OPCON 4) in preparation of Tropical Storm Hanna.

OPCON 4 puts Horry County on “Alert” status, which means county officials have begun discussions with South Carolina Emergency Management, the National Weather Service and other coastal communities. Horry County officials will monitor the storm closely, continue to review all operational plans and l keep everyone aware of changes in the forecast.

In a news release from Horry County, emergency officials say now is the time for you to review your family's hurricane plans, including items that may be needed like water, batteries, flashlights, etc. You should also monitor the local media for continued updates. Additional hurricane information can be found on Horry County’s website at www.horrycounty.org. At the right side of the home page you will see a link called Hurricane Information. This link contains information on how to prepare for an emergency, evacuation routes and maps, re-entry information, shelters, etc.
