John W. Horlbeck, headmaster of Thomas Hart Academy in Hartsville, recently announced he would step down as head of the school at the end of the 2008-09 school year, according to a press released issued by the school.
No reason for Horlbeck’s departure was given in the release. Horlbeck has served as the school’s headmaster since 2002.
The school’s board of directors is in the process of creating a search committee to coordinate the headmaster search. The new headmaster would assume the position in July, according to the release.
