Surfisde Beach workshop to revisit smoking ban

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Surfside Beach town council is hosting a workshop Tuesday afternoon.

Mayor Allen Deaton said council will be talking about various ordinances including the jury commission ordinance, tree ordinance, animal ordinance, littering ordinance, and smoking ban ordinance.

Deaton said after the first reading of the smoking ban ordinance, attorney general Henry McMaster was asked to give an opinion, Deaton said they’ve received it and it will be addressed at the workshop.

”It’s an important law, it’s a groundbreaking law so it’s been kind of painstaking muddling our way though it and I think at this point in time I think it’s tweaked to the point it’s time to get it right and get it passed.” said Deaton.

The workshop is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. in town hall.
