Wilbur Perry
HEMINGWAYWilbur “Bob” Perry, 88, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at his home.
Mr. Perry was born in Hemingway, a son of the late Marie “Mack” Perry. He was a retired supervisor for the Fiber Division of Wellman and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Outland Church of God, Deacon of the church and was a graduate of Johnsonville High School.
Surviving are his wife, Estalene Todd Perry of the home; children, Bobby (Myra) Perry of Hemingway and Pat P. (David) Montrose of Florence; sister, Doris (Ozzie) Tanner of Hemingway; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 20, 2008 at Outland Church of God, with burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Outland Church of God, 22075 Choppee Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.

Anne M. Williams
GEORGETOWNAnne Ruth Marsh Williams, 89, devoted wife and loving mother, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 at home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Williams was born in Johnsonville on May 14, 1919, the daughter of the late Wade Hampton Marsh and Annie Martha Eaddy Marsh. She was a graduate of Johnsonville High School and a very active member of Rose Hill Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Ted V. Williams; a son, Jesse Edward Williams; a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Williams.
Survivors include for daughters, Linda W. (Josh) Stanton of Hartsville, Angela W. (Tom Davis) Gainey of Timmonsville, Peggy W. (Cecil) Williams of Georgetown and Van W. (Richard) Balser of Columbia; ten grandchildren, Renee W. (Robbie) Boykin, Teresa W. (Nathan) Cagle, and Ted Van Williams all of Georgetown, Randy (Tracy) Williams of Hemingway, Aubrey N. (Randel) Totten of Timmonsville, Jim Stanton and David Stanton, both of Hartsville, Melissa C. (Brett) Thomas of Irmo, Jennifer C. (Jeff) Cowherd of Columbia and Kristina A. Clark of Venice Beach, CA.; nine great-grandchildren; five care givers, Vanessa Larkin, Shirley Cameron, Paulette Brown, Clara Gainey and Cathleen Grant.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Rose Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by The Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to United Hospice – Pee Dee, 609 S. Coit Street, Florence, SC 29501 or the charity of one’s choice.

Carl McDaniel
LAKE CITYCarl McDaniel, 85, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Mr. McDaniel was born May 20, 1923, in Leo. He was a son of the late General Lee McDaniel and the late Cora Elizabeth Gaskins McDaniel, and was married to Magdalene Gainey McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel was a member of Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church, was a former adult Sunday school teacher, was a past Mens Fellowship president, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Magdalene Gainey McDaniel of the home; two sons, Rev. Steven McDaniel (Vanessa) of North and James McDaniel (Amanda) of Clover; a daughter, Brenda M. Brunson of Florence; four sisters, Thelma Lee McDaniel of Lake City, Pauline M. Grier of Hemingway, Alene M. Stone of Johnsonville and Mildred M. Player of Andrews; a brother, William McDaniel of Hanahan; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara M. McKnight and Ola M. Powell.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008 at Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Brockington Funeral Home of Lake City.

Elizabeth Blondell Stone
JOHNSONVILLE - Elizabeth Blondell Stone, 91, the widow of James Hilburn Stone, went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2008 at the Lake CityScranton Health Care Center.
Mrs. Stone was born August 3, 1917, in Johnsonville, the daughter of Willie B. Dennis and Minnie Eaddy Dennis. She was a dedicated and faithful life-long member of the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith where she diligently served in many capacities including Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School worker, and Ladies Auxiliary.
She leaves behind two sons, Charles W. Stone and his wife, Brenda, of Murrells Inlet and Kenneth H. Stone of Pamplico; five grandchildren, Michael Stone, Michelle S. Paquette, Wade Stone, Kyle Stone, and Laura S. Turner; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Louann Stone; a brother, Willie Eugene Dennis; and a sister, Eunice D. Poston.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 24, 2008, at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith. Mrs. Stone will be laid to rest beside her husband 10-in the church cemetery directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Johnsonville Rescue Squad.

Bernard L. Davis
JOHNSONVILLEBernard Levoid Davis, 67, died Saturday, October 18, 2008.
Mr. Davis was the son of the late Rufus and Magdelene Gray Davis. He attended Chavis High School, retired from Wellman in Johnsonville and Haselden Bros. Ford of Hemingway.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Bell of Johnsonville and Jackuline Davis of Orange, NJ; four brothers, Charles (Alzeta) Davis of Marietta, FL, Edward (Jacqueline) Davis of Fayetteville, NC, Simmie Davis of Orange, NJ and Frederick (Jestine) Davis of Hemingway; aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 24, 2008 at Bethlehem AME Church in Johnsonville with burial in the church cemetery directed by Greens Funeral Home of Lake City.
