I know that Mr. Kenney Boone has done a fantastic job as sheriff. He has eradicated a lot of corruption out of one of Florence County’s local governments (Lake City), did some needed house cleaning at the detention center, drug busts throughout the county, and helped with the abating of gang violence. Florence County is too small and rural for this type of group behavior. He has done the job that he was elected to do and it has not been business as usual within the sheriff department.
There has been a considerable amount of corruption within Florence County, and this is one of the reason why I support Boone’s re-election to office because he is trying to do the right thing, and he also has backbone and it has not been business as usual.
This will be my first time in voting for a Republican candidate and may be my last, unless someone else of his caliber should come along again.
I also support Mrs. Octavia Williams Blake because she is a very intelligent woman and is well qualified to be elected to council.
I also support Mr. Leval Williams as county treasurer.
He has the experience and the “know how” and has worked closely with the county treasury for more than 20 years.
Finally, I endorse Mr. Stephen J Wukela because he will breathe new life back into the city.
I believe that if Mr. Wukela if elected as the next Mayor of Florence, Florence will become an All American City again in which it has not been since around 1964.
