Lamar community receives state funds

The S.C. State Housing Finance and Development Authority has awarded $449,740 to Community Assistance Provider Inc. under the HOME Investment Partnerships Program to provide homeownership opportunities for eligible low-income people at Starlight Village in Lamar.

Starlight Village is two years in the making, and the town has been working with Santee Lynches Community Development Corp. to build the affordable housing subdivision.

The subdivision, located on Davis Street, will consist of 24 lots. Additional lots are available for those interested. Call (803) 436-0020 and ask for Herman Voigt to schedule a visit.
