Horry County teacher gets an award

A Palmetto Bays teacher is honored for her work with special needs students.

Charlotte Jones is a special education teacher at Palmetto Bays Elementary School in Horry County. She has been awarded the Specific Learning Disabilities Teacher of the Year Award by the Council for Learning Disabilities of the Carolinas Chapter. Jones was one of four teachers honored with Teacher of the Year honors by the Council.

Jones was recognized at the International Conference of the Council for Learning Disabilities which was held in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 4.
