The Hartsville Police Department is asking for assistance locating a man they say assaulted one person and kidnapped another at knifepoint, according to a release from the department.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, authorities say Curtis Ray Nealey, 30, assaulted a person at a residence on the 800 block of E. Home Avenue and kidnapped a second victim driving away from the residence with the victim on his motorcycle.

Within minutes after responding to the call, the release said officers were notified the second victim had been thrown off of the motorcycle on Billy Farrow Highway and was transported to Carolina Pines Hospital.

Authorities say warrants have been issued, and Nealy is wanted for assault and battery with intent to kill and kidnapping.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Hartsville Police Department at 398-4920 or Crimestoppers at (888)-CrimeSC. Callers need not reveal their identities.
