The Marion County Council will meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesday in the Council Chambers in City Hall on Main Street. According to the agenda, council will enter into a public hearing to have public discussion on the ordinance to approve the lease of the Marion County Animal Shelter to Paws to the Rescue Inc. After the public hearing, council will adjourn and reconvene its regular meeting.
Also on the agenda for discussion by council is third reading of an ordinance authorizing the issuance of a special source revenue bond for Carolina AAC and second reading of ordinance #08-09 to approve the lease of the Animal Shelter to the new management group.
Council members are expected to make committee reports, hear a legal update from the county attorney, discuss the transfer of a state road, and discuss Marion County Council “PEP” Workshops ( Providing, Encouraging and Promoting). Council is expected to go into an executive session to receive a legal update on an economic development.
