Coastal Carolina University's Center for Resort Tourism released occupany rates for the week including this year's fall bike rally in Horry County.
The numbers show, overall, a decline of about 21% compared to the same period in 2007.
Officials that released the study say the decline could result from many factors, including the economy, gas prices, and, to some extent, the new ordinances passed recently by the city of Myrtle Beach, aimed at curbing the bike events.
Officials do say the fall season, so far, has shown a softening in occupany rates overall.
